Around Limehouse
Feeling disenchanted with Canary Wharf I jumped onto the DLR to Westferry, determining to go and shoot St Anne's Church in Limehouse with my tilt shift lens. This I had googled to find that it is a wonderful Hawksmoor church. Unfortunately it is also surrounded by iron railings which were firmly locked.
A quick change of plan and I saw a signpost to the Thames path and walked down to that passing some old wharf buildings.
The path took me to Limehouse Basin and round past some swanky new riverside apartments. In the ship lock which leads from the basin to the Thames there were workmen grouting the sides of the lock. The basin takes the outflow from the Regent's Canal and the River Lea, both of which would make good subjects for further walks. The Thames was looking particularly fine with some good cloud and lighting.
The following were taken with either the tilt shift or the 16-35mm zoom.
