Scotland 2016, A wet journey up, 25th September
At the end of September we visited Scotland and the islands of Skye, Lewis and Harris. I had a workshop booked for 4 days on Harris, so the plan was that Alan and I would drive the camper van up there, I would do the workshop and return home by plane and Alan would drive the camper back to Arkesden. We went up to Scotland in weather that was pretty wet and about to become worse. Still I cannot complain about the photographic potential of those cloudscapes. We got over the border, stopped the night in Glasgow with friends, and paused by Loch Lomond to take pictures of the Falls of Falloch. As we continued north the weather worsened, although the rain was stormy with patches of terrific light coming through on occasions. We drove past Beinn Dubhchraig near Crianlarich, where there were some wonderful crepuscular rays and on to Ben Dórain where the rain stopped for a short while.
