Harris workshop, day 6, final morning on Luskentyre

Image
We were due to fly back from Stornoway that morning, but there was enough time to sneak in an early visit to Luskentyre to see the sun rise. it came up spectacularly behind the beach, casting a red glow over the hills. Many thanks to Lizzie Shepherd and Alex Hare for such a well planned and varied workshop.  Hurrah!!

Scotland autumn 2016, more Harris beaches

Image
That first day on Harris we did a circumnavigation of the peninsula, and after we left Rodel, we drove west and then north up the west coast. We passed the beaches of Scarista, Horgabost and Luskentyre. Near Luskentyre we found a quiet place were we could spend the night.  We watched the sun go down . Nightfall was a quiet affair with just a pinkish tinge to the brooding clouds. The lenticular cloud over Luskentyre was to linger for several days.
