Glasgow City Centre Pictures

Image
Day 2 in Glasgow saw us doing some hospital visiting in the morning and then to the Willow Tea Rooms for a spot of lunch. Rene and I ate in this Mackintosh designed building and then walked round to the exterior of his Art School. After I dropped Rene off at Central Station for her train back to Cumbria, I went back for a tour of the Art School - unfortunately no photography allowed - and spent a little time round the city centre and Sauchiehall Street. It was the hottest day in Glasgow this year and we felt it.

A Day in Glasgow

Image
After a brief visit to the Lakes, Rene, Mairi and I drove up to Glasgow to see a rather poorly aunt. We  stopped at Gretna Green for coffee - always good for a bit of kitsch and then Pollock House in Glasgow. This is a wonderful oasis in the city which even has it's own herd of Highland cattle. We visited my aunt at the Old Victoria Hospital in Glasgow which is due to be closed next year. The Premier Inn in the city centre saw us bedded down for the night. We managed to get a room on the top floor which has a great view over the city, although Rene was upset the windows didn't open! All the pictures are taken with my Fuji XE1.
