Venice day 2, a trip to Piazza San Marco

We were staying in a rather quaint apartment in an old part of Venice with tiny lanes and backed by a narrow canal. So quaint that when I tried to use the electric stove the whole place fused!

Here are a few pictures from our early morning trip to Piazza San Marco, about 20 minutes away. The first shows the wooden door to our flat, on the right at the end. Being January the streets were mercifully quiet.
