The Lafarge Cement Factory Cauldon

The Lafarge cement factory rises up in front of Cauldon Lowe. This hill has been quarried for centuries and is hollowed and scarred.

The factory is a jumble of silos, sheds and conveyors all surveyed by the massive chimney. The site is dusty and noisy with the movement of mills and belts and the low rumble of the kiln.

We have been working to try and alleviate the impact of this works on the environment and local population.
