Kettleness to Redcar
We spent our last night in Aislaby then set out for Kettlness, on a whim, as it seemed to be at the end of a very small road going nowhere. Indeed when we got there there was only a farm and a couple of houses but the most stupendous view across the cliff.
We drove north a little way to Runswick Bay, a very gentrified town with a sandy beach. We had some coffee here before we spent the day meandering up the coast, finally watching the sun go down at South Gare on the Tees estuary, Redcar. A spectacular place for this endeavour. We spent the night at a Caravan Club site by the White Water Centre near Stockton-on-Tees and very civilised it was too.
Here are three pictures from Runswick followed by some taken around the South Pier Lighthouse at South Gare. Then the boats in Paddy's Hole and night coming in over the Teeside Steel Works.
